I who am I ?
I would like to create mirrors for the avatars.
What is mirroring? The mirror does not duplicate this reality – it throws back a pattern of light which is patterned by the reality in front of the mirror. Robin Allot
I would like to somehow mirror/ reflect the action by the avatar or the avatar him/herself. The mirror tells the avatar something about him/her in the same time as it tells the surrounding something about the avatar. It will in this way be a filtered kind of an extension of the avatar.
An action can be mirrored with the help of algorithms, certain variables, maybe generative.
The mirror could also be a sound, where the structure of what the avatar does/are looking like can generate the structure of the sounds he/she makes. The mirror can also be a picture/film, words or a mix of them…
The avatars could perhaps mirroring themselves at a special place or building.
The Stoics were the first to use the metaphor of the mirror for the functioning of language. They were followed by the scholastics of the Middle Ages who were interested in language as a tool for analysing the structure of reality. They attached the greatest importance to the question of meaning; the task of scientific or speculative grammar was to discover the principles by which the word, as a sign, was related on the one hand to the human intellect and on the other to the thing it represented. “Speculative” did not mean hypothetical. The word was from the Latin speculum meaning ‘mirror’; they were looking upon grammar as mirroring reality.

It is great to read about your overall thoughts on your project. Can you describe what you mean about “The individ increases her ability to understand others – which can put her into completely new situations very different from her own”? What individual are you talking about? Are you the mirror? Is the mirror almost like the Oracle in Delfi..? Why would avatars need self-knowledge?
