newBERLIN Art Festival - logged on 25th jan.

[11:13]  You: nice to meet you all here, at the meeting for the newBERLIN art festival!
[11:13]  Magix Merlin: hi all
[11:13]  DonVito Vendetta: hi
[11:13]  You: are there any questions before we start talking about different things?
[11:14]  grauerwolf Weston: kann man auch photos ausstellen ?
[11:14]  You: ok..everyone knows, what this meeting is about?
[11:14]  DonVito Vendetta: yes
[11:14]  You: please write in english :)
[11:15]  You: yes, you can show what you want to
[11:15]  You: if you like to show photos, for example, you first have to look for a place where you want to put your pictures
[11:16]  You: if you found one which you like, you have to call me
[11:16]  You: then we fix the place
[11:16]  You: an you get building permissions
[11:16]  You: thats the way it goes with everyone who takes part
[11:17]  Maya Ivanova: hi and good evening;-)
[11:17]  Orpheus Kurosawa: I’d like to know if there’s finally a decisson on the video screens. I’m doing video art and also SL machinima and if possible would like to stream films
[11:17]  January Lightfoot: how much streams ?
[11:18]  Orpheus Kurosawa: well, one… number of films isn’t essential
[11:18]  Orpheus Kurosawa: or is it?
[11:18]  January Lightfoot: doc you have expreience with quick time in SL
[11:18]  January Lightfoot: i mena one can be fine, depends where
[11:19]  January Lightfoot: and how long would it be d aon wich server it is?
[11:20]  January Lightfoot: but should be fine, just pcik some place where no one else is
[11:20]  Orpheus Kurosawa: sorry, if the server question was for me I’m afraid I didn’t get it….
[11:20]  Magix Merlin: and where we can chose the place, whole sim?
[11:20]  January Lightfoot: and get the quick time wich works and has the right size 4 sl then its possibel
[11:20]  January Lightfoot: for sure
[11:20]  You: yes, whole 3 sims
[11:21]  You: but please dont forget to register in the online list, thats important!!
[11:21]  You: http://berlinin3d.pbwiki.com
[11:22]  Orpheus Kurosawa: If there are more poeple with streaming media it would make sense to bundle it to one parcel. Where to put the screen can be basically decided the day before the show…
[11:22]  January Lightfoot: orpheus, yes, ahmm, just wondereing if you have the right size/format for streaming n sl
[11:23]  Orpheus Kurosawa: whatever. I’m a vido pro. I can transfer the films to any codec/size
[11:23]  January Lightfoot: if you can get your video in a quicktime format with 360×240
[11:23]  Orpheus Kurosawa: fine
[11:24]  January Lightfoot: we still need it to put it on a server, and i´m not sure if my can hold it all
[11:24]  Antonia Ling: Is there a prim-limitation for an artist. For example - I have RL-pictures with and without frames and I chance. Or I have low prim sculptures - some with 3 proms - others with 20 prims.
[11:24]  January Lightfoot: per artist there should be max 50 each, but
[11:25]  Orpheus Kurosawa: I’ll set up a streaming server and provide … you (?) with an IP. Should be easy from there
[11:25]  January Lightfoot: depends on the sim, and it´s aleays goog to have low prims
[11:25]  Antonia Ling: ok - thank you.
[11:25]  January Lightfoot: ok , orpheus, the its surely no problem
[11:25]  January Lightfoot: at all
[11:25]  January Lightfoot: you don´t even need a real streaming server,
[11:26]  You: about the prim limit: we dont know your work, we dont know which combination of work is themost interesting for you..you have to find a way to show your things the way you are finally satisfied…so use as many prims you need….but not too much ^^ ;)
[11:26]  January Lightfoot: a normal or decent file server is nomrally ok too, as long as it is not life
[11:26]  January Lightfoot: live
[11:26]  January Lightfoot: ;)
[11:28]  January Lightfoot: orpheus you sould keep me up to date where you want to place your video, so i can figure out how we split the land parceslll if needet
[11:28]  January Lightfoot: ALL pls use the wiki
[11:28]  You: ok…any other questions?
[11:29]  DonVito Vendetta: yes…
[11:29]  DonVito Vendetta: what’s about adding two columns to the wiki to add a photo and some sentences of explenation about each artwork?
[11:29]  January Lightfoot: http://berlinin3d.pbwiki.com/
[11:29]  January Lightfoot: USE THE WIKI :)
[11:30]  January Lightfoot: great point don!
[11:30]  January Lightfoot: we needone picture or a screenshot of you each,
[11:30]  January Lightfoot: and a short explonation
[11:30]  DonVito Vendetta: so we would get a complete catalouge of the art festival
[11:30]  January Lightfoot: then we can have a catalogue style page at the end
[11:31]  January Lightfoot: would be great if everybody can get together the PIC and text till monday
[11:31]  You: ok, that has to be put in the note i give away…and on the pages, everywhere..and per IM to all of the listed people
[11:32]  Orpheus Kurosawa: would there be interest in a machinima video documentation of this event? Scince I’ll be around all day I can use the time shooting
[11:33]  January Lightfoot: ORPHEY this would BE AWESOME!!!!
[11:33]  January Lightfoot: actually i might be able to even show your machinima on a aditional screen at the museum.
[11:33]  January Lightfoot: i asked for another screnn…
[11:33]  Orpheus Kurosawa: well, that’s not realtime
[11:33]  January Lightfoot: gr8 offer! we should do that…
[11:34]  Orpheus Kurosawa: would need editing
[11:34]  January Lightfoot: no problem i´m there till sunday mornung and tehn i set it up on saturday or sunday
[11:35]  Orpheus Kurosawa: then everybody should make shure, he/she has a working headset and voice enabled at this event, scince I run a modded SLviewer alowing me to see your lips moving when you are talking. It’s more fun doing some interviews with this ;)
[11:35]  January Lightfoot: great,,,,
[11:35]  January Lightfoot: OMG.
[11:35]  January Lightfoot: havent heard of that
[11:35]  January Lightfoot: we need to talk actuallly
[11:35]  Orpheus Kurosawa: :)
[11:35]  January Lightfoot: :)
[11:36]  GlobetrekkerBob Lane ist online
[11:36]  January Lightfoot: let´s voice afterwards
[11:37]  You: wel, the thing with the catalogue..text/ picture…who can write a german and english text about that?
[11:38]  You: then i add it to the note
[11:38]  You: an we put it on the pages
[11:39]  You: don, could you do hat?
[11:39]  You: that
[11:39]  DonVito Vendetta: yes, till when?
[11:39]  You: now :)
[11:40]  DonVito Vendetta: uff I’m busy this evening
[11:40]  DonVito Vendetta: maybe tomorrow
[11:40]  You: no, do it when you have time
[11:40]  You: cool, thanks
[11:40]  You: january and orpheus talk about the media things…
[11:41]  You: by the way, perhaps its possible to show my video then also :)
[11:41]  DonVito Vendetta: everytime I see LunAr, I get some homework ;-)
[11:41]  Orpheus Kurosawa: one central screen for all artists would be best
[11:41]  You: yes
[11:41]  You: with a program
[11:42]  You: hehe, don, you are a great pupil :)
[11:42]  DonVito Vendetta: thx
[11:43]  January Lightfoot: sry had to ga afk
[11:43]  You: what we REALLY have to do is to think about how to net the artwork….
[11:43]  You: i mean..
[11:44]  You: doing a netwok, sign where the artwork is
[11:44]  You: i dont know how to say it in english
[11:44]  You: die kunstwerke wie ein ausstellungsgang miteinander verbinden
[11:45]  DonVito Vendetta: set tp’s in front of each artwork, each tp takes you to the next artwork
[11:45]  January Lightfoot: orpheus, what you meen with screen? at the museum , the stuf is set up by the museeum
[11:45]  Orpheus Kurosawa: how about to connect the places with art with some sort of visual thread
[11:45]  January Lightfoot: what lunar and morpheus meens probably,
[11:46]  Orpheus Kurosawa: like big prims, glowing red (tubes, real small diameter, phantom)
[11:46]  Orpheus Kurosawa: hovering in the air
[11:46]  January Lightfoot: we will set up teh wiki and a web catalougue, and we should set up a overview with this material in sl
[11:46]  Orpheus Kurosawa: so when you look from top you actually see a network
[11:46]  Antonia Ling: Hmmm for example on a notecard with some TP’s from one place to the next place? A great netwok over thousand of sims in the hole SL?
[11:46]  You: thats cool
[11:47]  You: the visualized network is an interesting thing
[11:47]  January Lightfoot: i reccomand everybody also thnks of a singlle prim display, we can put togehther to a screen
[11:47]  January Lightfoot: or maybe a script, mixing the screens around
[11:47]  Antonia Ling: Or a transponder-system at every artplace with random targetd - hihi
[11:48]  January Lightfoot: like a cloud of pictures where you can ic one and get a tp/homepage link to the wiki
[11:48]  January Lightfoot: also when you get serious wth your PICTURE and text, you can/should open a new page in the wiki.
[11:48]  January Lightfoot: it´s very easy, but i can help if problems
[11:49]  You: i think the wikipage shouldnt be involved in the exhobition itself…we shoud do an easy system only inworld, like footsteps on the floor (not that, but kind of that)
[11:49]  January Lightfoot: anyway, lunar is totally right, a way to cisiualize the net somehow with o overwiev would be aewesome
[11:49]  You: we have to make it as easy to understand as possible
[11:51]  Maya Ivanova: what about a special HUD or is that to complicated?
[11:51]  You: visitor hud…
[11:51]  You: üossible but complicated to do
[11:51]  January Lightfoot: hmm thats complicatetd
[11:51]  You: possible
[11:52]  January Lightfoot: nope no hud this time, well but why not…
[11:52]  Murphy Hotshot ist online
[11:52]  January Lightfoot: the thing is if teh wiki has all slurls and pictures
[11:52]  Maya Ivanova: as I know you can place graphics there as you like, maybe the clue to visualize the network
[11:52]  January Lightfoot: it is relativly easy to build a multi part hud / and orteloport station artwork
[11:52]  January Lightfoot: this even must be a great peace
[11:53]  Orpheus Kurosawa: the thing is to visit the wiki you have to open a new window and “leave” this environment
[11:53]  January Lightfoot: probably it´s me i have to take care of
[11:53]  You: the thing is, we have to be flexible…if an artist decides to join one hour before the festival, we have to invlve him to the network very simple
[11:53]  Maya Ivanova: haven’t done this before it was just an idea
[11:53]  January Lightfoot: yes, but we use teh wiki to gather the data, and to ghave aditional possibilities
[11:54]  January Lightfoot: but it must be the working base for information
[11:54]  You: i think the idea with the visualized net, big prims, phantom..its cool
[11:54]  You: if someone decides to take part spontaneously…just another prim….
[11:55]  Olga Wunderlich ist online
[11:55]  January Lightfoot: yes, i need a scripter and a builder to develop thtat
[11:55]  January Lightfoot: that
[11:55]  January Lightfoot: it might be pervect
[11:55]  January Lightfoot: hey sory i NNEDDD to do sim managment squikly,
[11:55]  January Lightfoot: will be back 5 min
[11:56]  January Lightfoot: ahit did i chrash???
[11:56]  You: orpheus, could you do that net??
[11:57]  You: no you didnt, jan
[11:57]  Orpheus Kurosawa: I saw that there’s also a lot of performance art. Would make sense to build a schedule, so poeple have time to go from one place to the other
[11:57]  January Lightfoot: ok, who is holding me down ont heseat then???
[11:57]  January Lightfoot: ;)
[11:57]  January Lightfoot: relog
[11:57]  January Lightfoot ist offline
[11:57]  Orpheus Kurosawa: alles gut mach der reboot
[11:58]  You: orpheus…cool ideas…but::: we need to have people who realize all that ^^
[11:58]  You: so we need the iniative of all of you
[11:58]  You: networking…
[12:00]  Orpheus Kurosawa: In my experience, chaos is a working thing as order is. The problem is to bring a little bit of order into chaos…. So we should decide on a method….
[12:00]  January Lightfoot ist online
[12:00]  January Lightfoot: onesec need to run
[12:01]  You: yes we have to….
[12:01]  You: orpheus, what do you thing can you realize until 15th?
[12:02]  Case Tomorrow: hi
[12:02]  Orpheus Kurosawa: Setting up my art is not a big thing. Need two or three hours.
[12:03]  Orpheus Kurosawa: But I can bring in some time for global ideas. Just not an entire day
[12:04]  Orpheus Kurosawa: mhmmm. how many will we be? closer to 20 or more 50?
[12:04]  You: check the list, think about 20-30
[12:05]  You: if you have ideas like catalogue….things where everybody is involved…i can tell you: that WONT fit!
[12:05]  You: its SL….
[12:06]  You: you never get the things you need by everybody who takes part
[12:06]  Orpheus Kurosawa: Well but it’s possoble to create a catalog item everybody in the group can put notecards into
[12:07]  Orpheus Kurosawa: then, a few hours befor it starts this item is copied and placed everywhere
[12:07]  Olga Wunderlich: danke Lunar
[12:08]  Orpheus Kurosawa: notecards can have hyperlinks to webpages and pictures attached
[12:08]  You: hey olga
[12:08]  You: sit don
[12:08]  Antonia Ling: Yes - that is what I said some time ago ,-) notecards….
[12:08]  You: down
[12:09]  You: so, kind of a box, where every artist puts a note into?
[12:09]  knirg Kurka ist online
[12:09]  Orpheus Kurosawa: So we have a cetral mailbox, everybody has to create his/her notecard, throw it in and this will be the catalog
[12:09]  January Lightfoot: can ynbody copy paste last sentences?
[12:09]  Olga Wunderlich: Hello everybody, I start to see all of you
[12:09]  Antonia Ling: for example - but you can do a lot wirh notcards - on notcards can contain links - tp’s - pictures and text
[12:10]  January Lightfoot: yes orpheus, we will have that at the end, but PEASE, bevore creating a notecard
[12:10]  January Lightfoot: use teh wiki,
[12:10]  DonVito Vendetta: so, no photos and text in the wiki, are these notecards instead of this?
[12:10]  January Lightfoot: BECAUSE anybody can see it
[12:10]  January Lightfoot: and small things like wrong writing or soo can be controlled by everybody.this realy helps to have a overview
[12:10]  DonVito Vendetta: I’m a little bit confused now
[12:11]  January Lightfoot: at the end we will transfer everything to sl
[12:11]  January Lightfoot: +but thats the last step and will be done a couple of days bevore
[12:11]  January Lightfoot hat Ihr Inventarangebot akzeptiert.
[12:11]  January Lightfoot hat Ihr Inventarangebot akzeptiert.
[12:11]  Orpheus Kurosawa: well, this container thing can be a last minute action. It’s SL. copying items is no problem
[12:12]  Orpheus Kurosawa: we create a group and only the artists are allowed to feed it
[12:12]  DonVito Vendetta: sorry, but I have to leave now, I’ll try to get the text for you, LunAr, till tomorrow
[12:12]  DonVito Vendetta: bye
[12:13]  You: ya cool, thanks
[12:13]  Orpheus Kurosawa: I think I have a book generator script somewhere that generates a book where you can flip pages, by asembling notecards
[12:14]  January Lightfoot: wow, yep we can have that,
[12:14]  Antonia Ling: I also have to leave - because I have a invitations - I come back tomorrow looking for a little place and call you back, LunAR
[12:15]  January Lightfoot: as i see porphey should help with the video installation adn i work aout a concept for the network.visualisation-notecarrd multimedia art giver sculpture we have at the end
[12:15]  January Lightfoot: but to make it clear:
[12:15]  January Lightfoot: We use the wiki to WORK /nail down the ideas/concepts/text /pics
[12:16]  January Lightfoot: 3 days bevore the exhibithion the sculpture will be ready, and we import everything form the wiki in SL
[12:16]  January Lightfoot: into tghis web/spinning/moving thing
[12:16]  Orpheus Kurosawa: found a mailbox
[12:17]  January Lightfoot: containing ofall the participation pictures and informations
[12:17]  You: well…i would seperate the 2 thongs
[12:17]  You: things
[12:18]  You: on the one hand the sculpture with notecard..nice thing…doing a catalogue out of that
[12:18]  You: on the other hand the visualizednetwork
[12:18]  You: i wouldnt put these things together
[12:19]  January Lightfoot: hmm why not the web is the ppl and the net is the art
[12:19]  You: ??
[12:19]  January Lightfoot: i mean it needs to be realy cool and it must show express both
[12:19]  January Lightfoot: a web
[12:19]  January Lightfoot: and a catalog
[12:22]  Orpheus Kurosawa: folks, I need to go too. Do we have a group yet we can join and exchange notecards through the group?
[12:23]  January Lightfoot: pls usre teh wiki for wxhanging infos as much asp
[12:23]  You: no, …jan, do we need a group?
[12:23]  January Lightfoot: nope no group.
[12:23]  You: think we can do it by IM
[12:23]  You: and the wiki
[12:23]  January Lightfoot: jsut write evyrithing in the wiki even if it gets messed up
[12:23]  January Lightfoot: iwe can order t later
[12:24]  January Lightfoot: but thats the only way to go. all infos ONLIE pls
[12:24]  Orpheus Kurosawa: understood. A nice evening everybody!
[12:27]  You: ok..any things to talk about, finally?
[12:27]  Olga Wunderlich: I like to present again the program with directors Lounge
[12:28]  Olga Wunderlich: Shall I go?
[12:28]  January Lightfoot: ah ok yes great go on
[12:28]  January Lightfoot: i think it is set up
[12:28]  January Lightfoot: this will be graet too
[12:29]  January Lightfoot: we have to put it in the wiki as well
[12:29]  Olga Wunderlich: Okay, yes, I think we already have an agreement
[12:29]  Olga Wunderlich: So at the same time as newberlin festival, and parallel to berlinale there is a media art festival in Berlin
[12:30]  Olga Wunderlich: And we have proposed to have a visit at NewBerlin in two ways
[12:30]  January Lightfoot: ^Yes you talked to tobi already, (or someone) and as far as iknow this all is fixed already and fits in perfectly in the whle process
[12:31]  Olga Wunderlich: Yes, I was talking with Tobias neisecke
[12:31]  January Lightfoot: actually it is the aftershow, after i close the rl exhibithion in Coppenahgen, TOBI will open up in BERLIN
[12:31]  January Lightfoot: perfect timing
[12:31]  You: yes, that will be cool, we are happy that it really goes on
[12:45]  Olga Wunderlich: I mean it was be nice to have some representative place, it would also stay for 10 days, during the Berlinale/ Directors Lounge time
[12:45]  January Lightfoot: whrer to have you best
[12:47]  January Lightfoot: yep you are totally right we need a nice place wehere it can stay
[12:47]  January Lightfoot: let me think on thath short
[12:47]  You: perhaps here beside the school
[12:47]  You: at the chess
[12:47]  January Lightfoot: the easiest and we can do 4 sure is to hang up a huge logo/flyer with link and so
[12:48]  lisunchk Devin: hör auf zu labern
[12:48]  January Lightfoot: but to have a nice location and/or a nice chil out onge or something
[12:48]  January Lightfoot: yep wehre the chess is is ppretty nice and central
[12:49]  Olga Wunderlich: I did not understand, you mean we should have the screen in a less crowded area and a big sign here?
[12:50]  January Lightfoot: i ment to think on more then a screen
[12:50]  January Lightfoot: maybe somthing to sit on or tho lounge
[12:51]  Olga Wunderlich: ohh okay, yes, that would be nice, but this would take up a lot of prims
[12:51]  Olga Wunderlich: And I don’t really have much time to build anything nicely designed
[12:52]  Olga Wunderlich: Its no problem to give you logos and the even the full program,. but we also have to convert the files
[12:52]  You: perhaps another one can build sth like that, a little lounge area?!
[12:52]  January Lightfoot: ok, your choice, , so what you thing of the place where the chess is?
[12:52]  January Lightfoot: behind us next to the clock
[12:52]  January Lightfoot: you liek it?
[12:53]  January Lightfoot: like it?
[12:53]  Olga Wunderlich: one sec. I need to zoom
[12:53]  You: roland, what about you…..
[12:53]  You: can you build sth to lounge in?
[12:54]  Olga Wunderlich: ahh yes, that would be a good place, we could announce that it is opposite to the Weltzeituhr
[12:56]  Olga Wunderlich: humm, I think it would be a good place
[12:56]  January Lightfoot: yes OK ,the chess place is yours
[12:57]  January Lightfoot: need me to put the chess away
[12:57]  Bozidar McDonnell ist offline
[12:57]  January Lightfoot: just tl me wehn
[12:57]  You: please put it into the ist!! :)
[12:57]  You: list
[12:57]  Olga Wunderlich: Okay, so I would collect some logos
[12:57]  You: for how many people do we need such a sounge area?
[12:57]  You: lounge
[12:57]  You: 10?
[12:58]  January Lightfoot: just like 5- 10
[12:58]  You: ok..with some walls for logos
[12:58]  You: kind of pavillon
[12:58]  You: right?
[12:58]  Olga Wunderlich: I think if you do some lounge it should look like there could be more poeple than 5 sitting
[12:58]  January Lightfoot: maybe OLGA jsut starts with the logos and everything and we can add/look together into it later
[12:59]  January Lightfoot: but in sl it is very odd to have huge spaces for more tehn 10 ppl,
[12:59]  Olga Wunderlich: maybe with benches, or sofas rather than individual chairs
[12:59]  January Lightfoot: because ven if tehre are 20 the will not sit all
[12:59]  January Lightfoot: and so it always looks empty if it si to big
[13:00]  Olga Wunderlich: I know I know
[13:00]  January Lightfoot: but we can see, jsut start placing the logos, and we do mere next weeek
[13:00]  January Lightfoot: more
[13:00]  Johann Ehrler ist online
[13:00]  January Lightfoot: anyway it´s your lounge so yu can decide what you want there
[13:00]  Olga Wunderlich: it will be rare to have more than 5 people sitting, if it is some kind of pavillon, it could also be two rows of benches in a half curve
[13:01]  January Lightfoot: jap that sounds nice
[13:01]  You: you will build that, oklga? or shall we ask other builder (like roland :) ) for that?
[13:01]  You: olga
[13:02]  Olga Wunderlich: for me it would be a great relieve if I wouldn’t have to build it, actually
[13:02]  You: ok
[13:02]  Olga Wunderlich: But if I know who is going to do it, I can talk with him, and give some input
[13:03]  January Lightfoot: olga we can meet and we go shpping together
[13:04]  January Lightfoot: we can find some decent stuff
[13:04]  Olga Wunderlich: is there possibly a way to also have the program here, the festivalprogram? or is it better to just give the website?
[13:04]  Olga Wunderlich: Thank you january that is very nice
[13:05]  January Lightfoot: np
[13:05]  January Lightfoot: if it is a JPG we also can put up the programm
[13:06]  You: ok…..is there anything more or can we take a break till next friday?
[13:06]  You: today was very much to talk about
[13:07]  January Lightfoot: i think we are set,
[13:07]  You: everyone knows what to do? where to work on?
[13:07]  January Lightfoot: olga, get in contact with me asap with the JPG, and we meet rl and shop some sl stuff
[13:08]  January Lightfoot: i will put olgas programm in the wiki
[13:08]  Olga Wunderlich: Okay, good, I will try for tomorrow or Monday
[13:08]  January Lightfoot: and think on the web / net / artist / catalogue sculpture interactve whatever
[13:08]  January Lightfoot: no hurry, this weekend is paked already …
